Rootstech 2016

Rootstech 2016

Rootstech recently had their 2016 genealogy conference in Utah. Since I could not attend in real time, I attended in my pajamas by watching the live streaming of the keynote speakers and some of the sessions.

Many well know people and companies from the world of genealogy gave sessions and they are available to everyone now.

Some of the Sessions

  • Amy Crowe - Best Websites and Apps
  • Lisa Cooke from Genealogy Gems - Proven Methodology for using Google for Genealogy
  • Robert Kehrer - Finding Elusive Records on Family Search.org
  • Anne Mitchell - Become a Master Searcher on Ancestry

After listening to writer, Bruce Feiler, I downloaded one of his books at Audible.com. His writing draws you into his experiences on one of his trips.

David Isay's recordings of family interviews with Story Corp are wonderful stories that are uploaded to the Library of Congress. He shared some of these interviews during his presentation. You can also be a part of this collection.

These are just a few highlights from the conference that you can watch and listen to on their website.

Do not overlook the class syllabi that are also available for download. They are a wealth of information and ideas.

I hope you will take advantage of this wonderful opportunity.

See you next time!

Pattie
